Five In A RowFive in a Row was written by Jane Claire Lambert and consists of three Volumes. It covers 55 units in total and should last you 2 to 3 years. This literature based curriculum still uses picture story books as the basis for the units. Five in a Row is covers Social Studies, Language Arts, Science and Art for children ages 5 to 9 (Kindergarten-Grade 3). As a literature based curriculum it allows you to again teach different ages simultaneously. You will need to add a Maths program to make it complete from Grade 1.
This literature based curriculum uses quality children's literature as springboard to introduce and investigate the various subject areas.
Books were chosen that showcase close family relationships, personal triumphs, and persevering in times of trials. In addition to content,
the picture books also cover a wide range of artistic expression. Ideas for lessons based on the story books have been suggested, it remains for the parent to formulate them into a weekly or monthly plan.
This literature based curriculum suits all learning styles and thus gives you the opportunity to get to know your students and identify their specific learning styles so that you can make informed choices concerning future curricula.
There are 3 volumes in this series.
