Growing with Grammar

I have been homeschooling my five children (ages 8-14) for 9 years now, and have found Growing with Grammar to be the best grammar program we have ever used. Growing with Grammar breaks the parts and pieces of grammar down into "bite-sized lessons", brief yet thorough, and includes a work page of new material as well as review material every day.

There are three books per student for this program. There is a Student Manual, where the student reads the lesson for the day. It is very clear and very complete, and even my 3rd grader had no trouble reading this for herself. After reading the lesson, the student goes to the corresponding work page in the Student Workbook, and completes the page, covering both the new material and some review material. The Answer Key allows the teacher or student to check the work page quickly and with ease. (The Student Manual and Answer Key are non-consumable, and allow me to order only a new Student Workbook for my next child who uses that level. Very economical!)

I have used all the levels from Grade 1 through Grade 7, and all five of my children have enjoyed learning grammar with this program. I find that I enjoy the concise yet complete manner of the manual, and the fact that "one bite per day" is an excellent way to learn grammar!

I also appreciate that this program relieves me of all planning for grammar lessons, freeing me to plan in other areas. My kids know that "one lesson a day" is the grammar schedule, and that is as easy as planning gets! They just complete and check one lesson per day, and I check their tests, which are built into the Student Workbook at the end of every unit.

I highly recommend this grammar program for any grade level (available in grades 1-8), and hope you will appreciate the simplicity of it, as well as the thoughtful, well-laid out design.
