Seasonal Nature Study Album

I figured I would indulge myself, and my Charlotte Mason visitors, in a visual appreciation of the learning lifestyle from seasons.

So here you will see some of the events of our nature walks as we head out into the most beautiful of surroundings to refuel our senses and spirits.

TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM - May 2008

We are currently studying swimming creatures with a program called Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day by Jeannie Fulbright. Today we decided to do our science lessons and some of our reading at the aquarium.

KIRSTENBOSH BOTANICAL GARDENS - World Heritage Site 2007

We are very privileged to have the world renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens within a 15 minute drive from our home. We are currently studying botany with a program called Exploring Creation with Botany by Jeannie Fulbright. We have been delighted with all we have learnt so far. On Wednesday we made a visit to the Atrium at the botanical gardens to see what we could remember from our studies.

MARCH 2007 - CHART FARM

On Friday we visited Chart Farm which is a small farm 15 minutes away to find the ?perfect rose? to preserve. Chart Farm has olives, grapes and a lovely tea room - a perfect place to pick a rose (for a small fee!). It is surrounded by the beautiful Cape Mountains. We watched the busy bees at their work drinking nectar and pollinating the roses. Some of the rose bushes were taller that my head!
