SWR (Spell to Write and Read)

We have used SWR with our ds8 for 3 years now. SWR uses all the senses to teach spelling which leads to writing and reading. It is based on strong phonics, with 70 basic phonograms and 29 spelling rules, and has been a very thorough program.

It has been amazing to watch my ds begin to read and to see him able to decode words he has not learned to spell yet! There is a Yahoo support group as well, where you can ask any question and get an answer from a trainer (there are training seminars that are very helpful).

The SWR program is teacher intensive, but well worth the effort - and my spelling has improved as well! We love this program.
