Young Explorers Series by Jeannie Fulbright from Apologia
by Willemien Kruger
Starting with Exploring Creation with Zoology 1 - this is an excellent source of very high quality creation based scientific validated information. The books themselves are of a very high quality printed on glossy paper - with lots of pictures on the topics included. What has impressed me as well is the fact that they explain why they use the Immersion approach to the Sciences content (which is not done in the usual public school or even homeschool curriculums). This entails the fact that a child is being given in depth knowledge around a specific topic and not just an overview. The lessons provide guidelines on when to narrate (according to Charlotte Mason's approach) and even what to include in your Notebooks. These books are not Workbooks and one must be comfortable with making your own Notebook. I also advise that the child must be comfortable with reading English fluently. Their website provide plentiful additional information for the inquisitive child. I recommend these books to anyone wanting to ensure that their Natural Sciences foundation are laid solid as preparation for High School sciences.
